Home for the Holidays
Family is not an important thing. It’s everything. – Michael J. Fox
The holidays, however and with whomever you celebrate, are a special time of year filled with love, hope, and most importantly, family. When we say “family,” all of us at Waggin’ Tails feel strongly that our families include our pets.
The week of Thanksgiving, our volunteers took in three new dogs from Detroit Animal Care and Control! CJ, Roxanne, and Spencer are all settled into their foster homes and will be heading to the adoption roster soon. CJ was treated for an upper respiratory infection, with Roxanne and Spencer both diagnosed with pneumonia. Each needed breathing treatments and care at the ER. All are on the right track, and we feel privileged to be part of their journey to an awesome new life where they’ll be true members of a family.
Our foster parents are the lifeline of our organization, offering the first warm, loving environment that a dog may have had in a very long time, or ever. In a home, homeless dogs have the ability to heal, grow, and flourish. If you are interested in fostering, please reach out to us. We’d love to tell you all about how you can transform a canine life!
In addition, we pulled a few more deserving dogs into our program this month. We're happy to introduce Apollo, duo Astro and Orbit, Ethel, Emaline, and Winston! Stay tuned as all of these dogs will be looking for forever homes after we get to know their personalities and discover what is the type of home best-suited for them and get their vetting updated.
Your donation dollars go directly to items that specifically prepare dogs for the adoption roster. This includes veterinary care, like routine vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, heartworm tests, treatment for kennel cough, ear infections, skin issues, etc. All of our dogs receive nutritious food,
a collar, harness, ID tag, and are micro-chipped and we utilize positive, reward-based training techniques.
Your gift of any amount will help protect innocent animals and give hope for a new beginning to dogs like Corky, CJ, Roxanne, and Spencer.
