CODY'S VOICE

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil
but because of those who look on and do nothing
- Albert Einstein

Cody is a German Shepherd dog who until July 2011 did not have anyone to ensure his health and safety. Cody was taken in as a stray at a rural shelter where a special someone named Krystal put out a plea to rescue groups in the state of Michigan to take in Cody.

Every dog that comes to Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue is special in their own way but some dogs actually have special needs. Cody is one of those special needs dogs and we are in awe at what he's endured and how he has survived. Cody came to us filthy, tired, in pain from a large, gaping wound on his leg, and needing more than just a little TLC.

After an intial vet visit, we learned the Cody is heartworm positive, has a urinary tract infection, is un-neutered, and the wound on his leg turned out to be very serious. Cody's achilles tendon is gone. Waggin' Tails is currently getting treatment for Cody, via one awesome volunteer named Lori, and he is wearing a cast and getting daily bandage changes at the vet.

It would seem this one dog, with so many issues, could potentially put Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue in the poor house but we just cannot turn out backs on Cody now! We are not sure yet if his leg can be saved or if his heartworm treatment will be successful but we must try... for Cody. He is a survivor, an old soul, a fighter.

Show your support for Cody by joining his Facebook page and follow his recovery progress.

Waggin' Tails would also appreciate donations to assist in paying for vet care for sweet Cody.
